NEW YORK — The New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts have officially unveiled their new helmets, which were unveiled Tuesday.
The helmet is a light-up design that incorporates a new color scheme for the 2018 season.
It features a matte black-and-gold shade of blue, a dark red and a dark blue color palette.
The design also includes a number of elements from the 2018 logo, including a white, metallic stripe running the length of the helmet, an “A” logo above the helmet and a “V” design on the side of the head.
The design will be part of the Patriots’ 2018 home uniform.
The Colts have worn a white helmet with a blue stripe throughout the entire season.
This is the first time that the Colts have used blue on a helmet.
The team will wear a blue helmet on Nov. 3 against the Miami Dolphins.
The New England team will have a full set of new uniforms and a new logo, which will debut against the Seattle Seahawks on Nov 3 at Gillette Stadium.
The new look is a departure from the team’s usual black-ish colors, which have become iconic symbols of the team.
The first New England helmet debuted on Aug. 30, 2018.
The Colts and the NFL Players Association have been locked in a long-term contract extension.
