How to STOP hearing noises inside your building and home, even in your own house, according to a new study.
Researchers from Purdue University found the noise canceling headset could reduce noise pollution inside your home or office.
They tested the noise cancellation headset in an office setting and found it could reduce the noise of human voices inside the room.
The study, “The Sound of Silence,” was published this week in the Journal of the American Society for Testing and Materials.
Researchers found the device works by sending sound waves through the air to create a sound barrier.
When they placed the headset on a wall, it created a sound that was nearly undetectable.
They also found that the sound barrier is not a barrier at all.
In their study, the researchers tested the sound of human speaking within their own home, and found the sound was still audible in that environment even with the headset.
But the sound didn’t appear to be blocking any of the human sounds.
They found that noise cancellers could still create audible sounds within the room when placed inside the office, and when placed in their own homes.
“There are a lot of devices out there that are designed to do certain things, but they don’t always have the ability to completely block human voices,” said the study’s lead author, Andrew P. Biesecker, professor of mechanical engineering at Purdue.
“We found the Sound of Harmony headset does that.”
The study was conducted in collaboration with the National Institutes of Health and Purdue University.
The team also included a team of researchers from the University of Iowa, Purdue University and the University at Buffalo.
“It’s a new way of creating a sound in the world that can be used for many purposes, from making your own noise canceller or noise-cancelling headphones to the sound you can make in your home,” Biessecker said.
